The Stewards fined Martin Brassil, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Drumlee, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. The Stewards requested a report from Martin Brassil, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Drumlee, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Martin Brassil reported that he only acquired this animal in the spring and having run too free in his races, the tactics were changed today where he was dropped in off the pace and he only arrived going to the last fence travelling well which enabled him to finish his race. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

An extended handicap steeplechase for four yrs old and upwards (116 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Any horse rated above 116 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 0lb. Subsequently, the excess over 116 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four or five year old rated above 116 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
