Nearly Nama'd collected the big prize up for grabs in the Underwriting Exchange Dan Moore Memorial Handicap Chase at FairyhouseSun 10th Jan
Mark said he was a little bit novicey but it was his first run over fences. He never does anything very impressive and just does what he has to do. They went a good honest gallop. I’ll have to talk to the lads and see where we go next. Hopefully he’s okay after this and we’ll see where we go then.
Gordon Elliott
He's a nice horse and he's a big chaser in the making really. I'd say that ground just wasn't ideal for him but he showed his class,. We were riding him maybe a little negatively with the trip. Barry said he's a horse that you'd be better off grabbing a hold of and riding a race. He was a bit sloppy with his jumping because we wanted him relaxed. Chasing will be his game and whatever he does this year will be a bonus. There isn't a whole lot for him and we might look at the race in Fairyhouse for him (Grade 2 Ballybin Hurdle).
Gordon Elliott
I’d say he’s a fair one and you’d like the way he has galloped to the line. He has improved a good bit from last year and has got stronger and he’s a horse for jumping fences down the road. There’s no chance he’ll run in the Newbury race as he’s a horse for next year; I’ll talk to Frank (Berry, owner J.P. McManus’ racing manager). We might keep him at home (instead of going to Cheltenham) but we’ll talk to the lads and see.
Gordon Elliott
He's a nice horse. He was very green and I'd imagine that will probably be him for the year. He'll be a nice horse with a summers grass. He did everything to get beat. Barry said it was a faster gallop than the last day and he's still a baby and very green. He kicked a few hurdles out of the ground. To come back and win after that mistake at the last - I'd say he's a nice horse. I'd imagine he'll go chasing next year.
Gordon Elliott
He'd a good run first time at Navan and then won his bumper. I thought it would be too big a step today but he seems to be improving the whole time,. He's a chaser really and looks a proper horse for the future.
