Formscan By John O'Riordan - The Philip Rothwell-trained WOODSTREAM LAD catches the eye at the foot of the weights. A winner at this track over hurdles last month, the eight-year-old appears to be well handicapped over fences. Although unable to exploit a 12lb lower chase mark in recent outings, the return to this venue could spark the necessary improvement. Given that the Soldier Of Fortune gelding has only had four starts over fences, he should be open to progression. Lakefield Flyer has to be of obvious interest given that both his previous career wins have come here. Portarlington is another lightly raced chaser who should be competitive off his current rating.
