THE HUNTINGDON RACECOURSE 2026 FIXTURES ON SALE HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 5) Permission was given for Wings On Wheels (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
The winner, Carpe Diem (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Leicester on 28 December 2025 where the gelding finished fourth, beaten by 32¾ lengths.
David Bridgwater’s representative’s explanation that Carpe Diem (FR) appeared to benefit from the first- time application of the visor, was noted.
Carpe Diem (FR) was routine tested.
The performance of Zoeman (FR), which started favourite and finished fifth, beaten by 48½ lengths was considered.
The representative of Tom George’s explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the Going, which was officially described as Soft, Good to Soft in places on this occasion but was subsequently changed to Soft following the race, was noted.
