Tramore Fri, 14th Aug, 2026  Simple Things I'm delighted with that. She had been knocking on the door, so it's great to get the win with her. She had a nice run in Galway and she learned a lot from that, I'd say. She'll probably go back into handicap company now. She likes nice ground, so we'll look for something before the rain comes, although she's been on the go a while at this stage.

Wexford Thu, 23rd Jul, 2026  Phildante Finally she has won, although she was running a good race when she fell at Limerick the last day. The form of that race has stood up well as the runner-up Set The Tone won the earlier division of today's race. She had a lovely weight and Josh claimed 7lb off her, although was in front a little early. In fairness to her, she stayed going and this is Josh's first winner for me and is good value for his claim. She had finished second in this race last year and likes it around here. It is great to get Dom's (Delaney, owner) first winner and he is a north Kilkenny man who bought this mare last year.

Ballinrobe Tue, 21st Jul, 2026  Ealu Tapa We fancied him at Punchestown and things didn't go his way,. A horse was dropping back and fell right into his path, and that knocked him out of the race. Josh Halford came in and said that he was unlucky and that there was plenty of ability there. He's a fine big horse, and is out of a sister to Peregrine Run. If he does even a third of what Peregrine Run did, we'll be happy, and we have his half-sister by Maxios at home.

Limerick Thu, 2nd Jul, 2026  Siege Of Carthage he is a fine big horse, he was always nice since he was younger but just has had a few problems. They have nursed him back and he had a lovely run in a bumper in Gowran the last day, where Aine Connolly gave him a beautiful ride and said he’d come on a lot from it. He had run in a point-to-point (in 2024) and had a lot of schooling done so we were hoping he’d run a good race. I’m not sure what they’ll do now as Josh is a seller but he’ll have no problem jumping fences too.

Downpatrick Sat, 13th Jun, 2026  Brosna Queen She's a decent mare just things haven't gone right for her the last year, but touch wood we have her right now, I think. She's out of a Hawk Wing mare and she is a Getaway, she probably just wants that bit of better ground. We will see how we go with her now. Downpatrick has been for lucky for us and we have always been very lucky up north, in Down Royal as well. Even riding here, I was very lucky.

Clonmel Fri, 5th Jun, 2026  Getaway Henry Getaway Henry ran no race the last day at Limerick which we couldn’t understand, but he only has one eye and was on the inside, so I think he was doing nothing at all. He lost his (off) eye as a foal out in the field and my sister Christina, who bred him, tips away with him, but he ran so badly the last day that she didn’t come today!. We have two horses and the other one is a half-sister Pixie Hill, who runs tomorrow at Punchestown. We are based near Freemount in north Cork and use Alex Ott’s gallops a lot and also Eugene O’Sullivan’s. I previously worked for Gerry Cully and Michael Hourigan and we are farming so this is a hobby. Please God this fella can win again.

Downpatrick Fri, 22nd May, 2026  Asphalt Cowboy He won the two hunters chases here last year. He loves it here and is a different horse around here. The other horse (Cause For Comment) is a much classier horse but this lad when he comes around here, he seems to light up. We'll work back from here next year!. He's unbelievably talented, but he just has his own ideas about it. He's a yard favourite. He would be a right horse for the Ulster National. I would look at that; sure it is a 50 grand race. Cause For Comment ran a blinder, he was unlucky. He was very lucky to stand up. He's finished for the season, but he will be a lovely horse for next year.

Killarney Sat, 9th May, 2026  Pride Of Place Charlie knows him well, won on him last year in Tipperary and the horse had a nice blow out in the charity race at Punchestown last week, where he was ridden by Kate O'Leary, who works with us. He jumped well and loves that trip. He'll probably get eight or 10 pounds for winning today but Charlie takes 5lb off, which helps. . Charlie is with me every Monday and it was a clever ride today, as he did everything that was asked of him.
