FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - There was a market plunge on KALANOURA at Roscommon on June 15th. Jockey Conor Maxwell reported that his mount slipped and got unbalanced rounding the first bend on that occasion. Though the gamble was never going to pay off, Kalanoura signalled hope for the future when keeping on well inside the final furlong before suffering interference close home. She ended up eight and a half lengths off winner, Will Be King, when fifth there, and has since possibly been a little disappointing on slower ground at Navan. There’s little doubt that there’s races to be won with this Casamento filly, and she looks sure to be there or thereabouts here. The Abbey is dangerous after his Killarney win last week, for a syndicate that includes Racing TV’s Gary O’Brien. Maunganui, Tirmizi, Itsalonglongroad, One In All In and Castle Chase are others that can make an impression.
