FormscanBy Michael Graham - LARIAT looks like another ex-British horse that Ado McGuinness can do well with, having been purchased out of Andrew Balding's stable for whom he reached a mark of 90. He should be all the sharper for a recent unplaced run in the valuable Ragusa handicap, after being prominent for a long way, at this venue earlier in the month. The four-year-old has a low draw, gets first-time cheekpieces and Gavin Ryan takes 5lb off his back, so a big run appears likely. This is a step up in class for Will Be King but the hat-trick seeker couldn't be in better form. Centroid, a half brother to double Arc winner Enable no less, is the dark horse. Dermot Weld spoke of him as a potential stakes horse after he won his maiden on debut at Leopardstown in summer 2018. He hasn't been seen since September of that year, however, when beaten at odds on in Naas. A watching brief may be best off such a long lay-off. Roibeard and Yenillik (in his first handicap) are others with decent shouts.
