FormscanBy Tom Weekes - ENERGUMENE missed Cheltenham due to a muscle injury and can maintain his unbeaten jumps record here. He showed top class potential prior to Cheltenham when easily winning three chases, the latest being at Grade 1 level, with the transition to today's sounder surface unlikely to inconvenience. ENERGUMENE beat stablemate Franco De Port to win at Leopardstown in February and another Mullins runner Janidil also beat Franco De Port when winning a Fairyhouse Grade 1 this month. Janidil lacks ENERGUMENE's flashiness and might ideally prefer middle-distances but should nonetheless give the selection a race. Captain Guinness is high-class and a keen-goer but was beaten 8.5L by ENERGUMENE in January and fell when a close second to him (when ENERGUMENE was travelling strongly) at Leopardstown. His third-placing in the Arkle at Cheltenham was good but is again vulnerable to top class novices. Embittered lacks Grade 1 ability and were he beaten today, would make a nice second-season novice next term while Zarkareva should struggle.
