FormscanBy Eamonn Murphy - Tony Mullins had a winner at Gowran on Wednesday, with Lass Vega, and he could have another here with ELIS GURY. This Refuse To Bend gelding joined Mullins with a few Flat wins in Germany to his name, and he's obviously impressed in his homework as he's gone to post more than once as the best backed horse in his races. He delivered at Wexford in early July, and though he hasn't been to Kilbeggan yet, one could imagine the pacey sort being well suited to the challenge that this tight track presents. Several of Elis Gury's opponents have been there done that when it comes to getting the job done at Kilbeggan. It looks competitive and there aren't many that you'd be readily crossing off.

An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (123 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each hurdle race won Any horse rated above 123 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 123 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 123 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
Riders - Confined to Professional under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances (up to and including 1st September and which are not cumulative) who have not ridden the winners of 25 *races allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 40 *races allowed 2lb No allowance to riders under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed.
