FormscanBy Alan Magee - HIGHLAND FLING has caught my attention on a couple of occasions in maiden hurdles, and may prove good enough off this initial mark. The selection won on the Flat at Ballinrobe for Frank Dunne last summer, and showed definite promise over hurdles when staying on nicely into sixth behind Any Second Now at Navan. The extra half-mile appeared too far when returning to that venue last weekend. Charlie Stout had Draycott Place and Lilshane behind when scoring in good style at Thurles last month, and was far from disgraced when third to Thirsty Work at the Leopardstown Christmas meeting. Lagostovegas is another to consider. Harry Kelly’s dual purpose gelding was due to line-up in the Coral.ie Hurdle last Sunday but missed out due to transport problems, and this is certainly a less competitive alternative.
