FormscanBy Tom Weekes - BLACK TEARS ran a cracker to finish a close fourth in the Mares' Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham and looks the one to beat here. Out of a good racemare, she has shown smart form throughout her career and has progressed well in recent times. Her Cheltenham run was just 17 days ago but if she reproduces her 2L fourth then, she would have strong claims here. Champayne Lady finished third in the 2018 renewal of that Cheltenham race, with Cut The Mustard behind in sixth. However Champayne Lady was absent for a year prior to returning to action at this year's festival and having fallen at the fourth, has a little to prove today on what is effectively her reappearance run. Cut The Mustard has ground to make up on Champayne Lady on last year's Cheltenham form but she did run well enough in the recent County Hurdle and is a proven performer from her rating. Emily Moon pulled up in the Mares' Novice at Cheltenham and while she obviously needs to do better today, had previously shown useful form.
