FormscanBy Michael Graham - GUSSY GOOSE is hard to oppose in her first handicap. She has hit form over this seven-furlong trip with a second place in Limerick before staying on well to win her maiden at Gowran Park by three lengths. That race confirmed her ability to handle fast ground as it came on good to firm going. Similar conditions are forecast for Fairyhouse. She should be up to defying a mark of 86 for winning in Gowran. Jockey Fran Berry certainly knows the best way home in this contest having won it for the last two years. Pat Smullen is a good booking for Sheila Lavery's Mzuri. This filly has to have a chance based on her last two efforts when not beaten far in mile contests at Leopardstown and Naas. She doesn't look badly handicapped on 74. Splashtop isn't out of it with a 10lb-claimer lessening her load considerably. There was plenty of merit in her two runs at this distance.
