FormscanBy Michael Graham - It's not going to be easy for three-year-old filly VINTAGE NOUVEAU against her elders, but she has a lovely racing weight of 8-10 and receives all the allowances. When she impressively won the Ulster Oaks she left the impression that she could be a black-type filly. That thought hasn't gone away after she was only beaten a length into third in the valuable Kingdom Gold Cup at Killarney. She holds a Group 3 entry in the Diamond Stakes at Dundalk and looks a good each way bet against the hot favourite Tarana. John Oxx's charge is now up to a mark of 108 after winning a Listed race in Galway last week. She has been highly campaigned in Listed and Group 3 company and is clearly progressive. She is rated 9lb superior to Vintage Nouveau yet has to give her 13lbs in weight. Whether she is a value bet at the 6/4 she was trading at last night is open to conjecture. She is well proven at this trip though. Inis Meain is a good dual-purpose horse who carries a rating of 110. He is closely matched with Tarana having beaten her and been a close third to her. However, he does like to get his toe in and this ground will be very fast.
