He landed back-to-back handicap hurdles at Kilbeggan and Clonmel on his first starts for Gordon Elliott and wasn't all that far off completing a hat-tick of wins when third under a big weight at Listowel nine days ago. Polepatrick was off the track for 13 months before taking third spot in a maiden hurdle at Clonmel in March and he backed that up when a winner at Tramore. The four-year-old Berto Ramirez won his maiden hurdle at Down Royal in early May and went well again in a similar race to this at Wexford last time.
