The Stewards interviewed D.N. Russell, rider of Tandem (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found D.N. Russell in breach of Regulation 10.3(e),by hitting his horse other than down the shoulder or on the hindquarters and having taken his record into account, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Max Dynamite (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. R. Walsh, rider of Max Dynamite (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped poorly. Paul Townend, rider of Kinnitty Castle trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled and pulled up. The Stewards interviewed M.P. Walsh, rider of Snake Eyes, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found M.P. Walsh in breach of Reg 10 3. (e) by using his whip other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters and having taken his record into account, suspended him for one race day.
