THE WIN £250,000 WITH BETMGM'S GOLDEN GOALS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) An enquiry was held to consider two instances of interference inside the final furlong, involving Quick Quasar (IRE), placed second, ridden by Hollie Doyle, Fickle Mcselfish (GB), placed third, ridden by David Nolan, and Mereside Princess (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Pyle.
In the first incident, the interference was found to be accidental as Nolan’s mount had edged left-handed at the same time as Mereside Princess (IRE) edged marginally right-handed resulting in him becoming momentarily awkwardly placed on the heels of Fickle Mcselfish (GB).
In the second incident, the interference was also found to be accidental as Doyle’s mount had lugged quickly left-handed resulting in Nolan having to take a check and be moved off his intended line, which further resulted in Pyle becoming crowded for room and have to briefly check his mount.
Following the race, Jason Hart reported that Saxon Grace (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed.
