Dundalk Fri, 11th Apr, 2025  Jorge Alvares It was great and the blinkers have worked wonders for him there. They have made him concentrate, but he was very genuine there. Got a lovely break and Colin said his mind was on the game there the whole way around the bend. The last day he was just a little bit fresh. It was a good shout by everybody when that race presented itself straight after last week to drop him back down (in trip) and go for it. Hopefully, the owners (Gaelic Thoroughbreds) will have a bit of fun with him for the foreseeable future in the summer. He battled. Blinkers can be used for different reasons but they made him concentrate on his job. He'll have them forever more because of that. Six or seven (furlongs) around a bend.

Dundalk Fri, 21st Mar, 2025  Sunriseontheboyne I know we were coming back in trip, but we rode him more positively tonight. He's a good horse and good horses can run over different distances. I reckon he should stay further, a mile and two horse. We are happy with the way that he is improving all the time. He has won on a little bit of give in the ground in Killarney last year. We will be hoping that he will be out somewhere (on the turf). We rolled the dice here tonight - we didn't intend coming here,  but I was looking at the entries the other day and I didn't think there was going to be many (runners). It has paid off.

Dundalk Fri, 7th Mar, 2025  Dromore Glory he got a lovely ride and Nicola was great value for that 7lb claim in that race (for apprentices who have not ridden 15 winners). Dromore Glory likes it up here and probably isn’t as good on the turf. If the handicapper leaves him at 50 on the turf, he might just get through one! His all-weather form is definitely a lot better. I don't know if there is a race on finals night as he will probably go up too much to get into the 0-65 bracket.

Dundalk Fri, 28th Feb, 2025  Fly To Glory He likes the far side! The last day they were all coming to the near rail and he wanted to go to the far side. We decided a few runs ago to go where he wants to go. Little bit quirky, but he's tough and he did that well. He showed good resolution and maybe Harry's Bar got a little bit lonely in the middle. You probably wouldn't want to lose him after that, but we'll see. If he's gone, he's gone, and someone will have fun with him. The lads that own him, some of them have bought into another horse. They would be happy enough to keep him as well.

Dundalk Fri, 17th Jan, 2025  Dromore Glory He ran well fresh here last year and, unfortunately, I beat him with one of my own horses!

Dundalk Tue, 14th Jan, 2025  Cousin Shay It was a very good ride - he kept it simple and positive, and that was what we had in mind tonight. We were hoping, obviously, that he was going to stay. At the same time, last week, it looked like an extra two furlongs wouldn't be a problem. He seems to be going in the right direction. Leigh thinks there might be a good race in him, so hopefully he is right. Leigh thought he was a little bit keen, but then he came back on the bridle and travelled lovely. He is happy and over the weekend he ate up, and we were happy to run him again tonight. The grass on good ground shouldn't be a problem for him going forward. We will consider that and hopefully he will keep improving.

Dundalk Tue, 14th Jan, 2025  Fly To Glory The horse loves the far rail anyway!. It wasn't the plan (the last day) and I said to Leigh going out 'wherever he wants to go, you just go with him'. He hangs to the far side, but he finds. He is happier now than he was, so we are delighted with him. His head went a little bit wrong before, but he is loving it now at the minute. He's a hot horse, he takes a little bit of minding at home. He can kind of overdo things a bit, but we have found the key to him now. Hopefully, there is another one in him. He is entered on Friday in a '70' back up over seven (furlongs), so we will see how he comes out of this. I'd like to thank the owners, the Bajan Invasion Syndicate, for sticking with him because we knew he had a bit of ability and it is paying dividends now. He's going so well here, we will probably give him a break during the summer. He is in all winter and is going a long time.

Dundalk Fri, 10th Jan, 2025  Movin And Groovin She's tough and hardy. Seven (furlongs) or a mile is really her trip - I was gambling going back to six, but I didn't think it was a great race. We said we would run her. It was great for Con (Marnane) because we kept her there all year and it was great for her (to do that). Nicola is great value and she is a very good kid. She got her rolling well and she (Movin And Groovin) stays at it well. She might come off it early, but she is tough and honest.

Dundalk Wed, 18th Dec, 2024  Fly To Glory It was a great ride, he's not the easiest of horses. He's not too bad at home but, just when he gets to the track, gets buzzed up a bit. He has done a few funny things with us - he hasn't jumped once or twice, he can hang a little bit. He's probably a little bit too keen to start putting headgear on him. We just said we would stay tricking with him and see would he pick up one. We were very impressed with the way he ran the last day. Nathan got to know him and I made sure I booked Nathan in plenty of time. He's just that type of horse that you need to get on with him. I actually told him to come up the near rail! He said he was lugging a bit to the far side, so he wasn't going to start interfering with him. I was kind of wondering where he was going, but I was happy enough when he crossed the line!. He did it nicely. When he got the swing of things coming up the straight, he put his head down. It is generally on the bend that he can give a little bit of trouble. The Bajan Invasion Syndicate have stuck with him and we knew he had a bit of ability. We knew he would get his day and it is great that the lads stuck with him and got the win.
