Curragh Sun, 16th Aug, 2026  Howlin Wolf That was good. He was just sort of an immature horse and was always going to need a couple of runs to learn the job. I didn’t really expect this. He’s a quirky sort but he got the rail and picked up well. We’ll look forward to the Birdcatcher, it’s a great pot. It’s really pleasing, I bred him myself. I actually bought the mare in America for the minimum bid of $3,000 and it cost me 10 grand to get her back but I’m glad I did. She’s paid me back now. He’s always shown bits and pieces of ability but my concern was when he’d put it together. He did today. Hopefully the penny has dropped now.

Killarney Mon, 13th Jul, 2026  Johnny Soda He was a breeze-up horse from last year, I bought him off Ian McCarthy,. I was told he was a very nice horse and he’s proved it now. I thought we weren’t well handicapped at the start of the year but he’s done really well. He’s a decent horse and I think he can progress more; he could turn into a premier handicap horse before we’re finished. He’s a big huge horse. Adam was very good on him. He said there was going to be no pace. He thought Dylan might make it and he didn’t give him a freebie, he sat on his girth. Dylan kicked early off the bend but he cruised into the race. I’m very happy. It’s a great bunch of lads that own him. Most of them are from Dublin. They’ll be happy men today so I’m delighted.

Fairyhouse Wed, 8th Jul, 2026  Glory To Be That was great. It was a bit of a tactical race. They didn’t go over fast and she was a bit keen with him. He (Lordan) said he wasn’t too sure if she was comfortable being pinned on the rail - she’s a very small filly, but she’s as tough as anything. He said he was always comfortable, although he looked under pressure. He felt they weren’t getting away on him and that he’d be able to get one run. She just does what she has to do when she hits the front, so it was ideal the way it panned out for her. She’s a great filly. I put her in the Scurry in the off chance it would come up good, but they probably need rain there. This track does the best job of watering of any track in the country. The ground is a credit to them.

Bellewstown Fri, 3rd Jul, 2026  April Mist we would have all have lost a lot of money if we were betting on this filly being out first two-year-old winner of the year, but we'll take it when it is coming. It has just been one of those years when we’ve just had to be patient. She surprised us in Naas to be honest, she did nothing since and when this race reopened, we put her in it. I said it's not the right track or anything like that and I didn't know whether she would sharpen up or not for her debut run but we found out that tonight. She's home-bred and will go for the Marwell (Listed, Naas) now to try and rob black-type. If she gets black-type, then they can keep her on the team and breed from her, which saves them having to buy them.

Bellewstown Thu, 2nd Jul, 2026  Rosie Frith We have been knocking on the door, struggling to get a winner, so it is great to kind of kick off the season. She went to Cork and it was very heavy ground and didn't handle it, went to Epsom and got soft ground as well. Probably improving a little bit with every run and I thought she stripped a bit fitter today. The ground is not fast out there, but it is not holding. It is great to have her back and we will probably be going for a premier handicap, and maybe trying to get a bit of black-type then. There was chat about maybe even going to Dundalk next week, but we might skip that. There is one in Cork - she loves Cork, she has won there and was second there. I imagine we will head on to Cork. She does seem to relax (off the front), it is more that when she gets her own way she can get into top speed. She can rush a little bit if she is taken on. She is very fast.

Leopardstown Thu, 18th Jun, 2026  Johnny Soda We were very, very close to taking him out. Adam got off Goal Exceeded and said 'I wouldn't run that chestnut horse. I think it'll be too quick for him'. We were humming and hawing and, the boys (Go Nutz Racing Syndicate) said that we'd run him and not to punish him if he wasn't handling it. We all got it wrong!. He is a big horse and he is quite a heavy horse as well. You wouldn't want that type of ground now too often for him. We'll probably get away with it today. Adam was good on him. We said we'd just jump out and we knew there was plenty of pace on and he did that. He picked up well and galloped to the line well. I think the likes of Galway could suit this fella. I think there is a nice three-year-old only 0-90 down there and that's probably where he'll head now.

Gowran Park Fri, 12th Jun, 2026  Gilts We are delighted with her. . Jack just said that she is mentally immature, which is lovely to hear when they have won. That would fit, as she just didn't know what she was doing in her earlier races and things didn't quite go right. . I walked the course there before racing and I thought the ground was lovely. She had a super draw and I just thought everything was in place for her to run a good race. . You never know in their first handicap. Anyway, it worked out well and she is maturing which is great. She is 51, so even if she gets clobbered she'll probably still be in a 0-60, which gives us options. Jack said between seven and a mile suits.

Gowran Park Fri, 12th Jun, 2026  Gilts We are delighted with her. . Leopardstown Thu, 11th Jun, 2026  Pisiffik Ginger she did that great. I was a little bit worried about the ground but when he (Foley) got her out onto the better ground on this side of the straight, he said she picked up well. She stayed well.

Cork Sun, 3rd May, 2026  Johnny Soda he is a lovely horse who we bought in the breeze-ups last year and after finishing second in a Dundalk maiden last winter, Adam (Caffrey, jockey then) got off him and said not to run him back there again as he wants a little juice in the ground. Even though he is by Cotai Glory, I’d say he is a 1m2f horse. Not many of his progeny end up jumping, but you could see this horse in that sphere as he is 16.2hh and is gorgeous big horse. He is massive and if you looked at him in the ring, you’d think he was a point-to-pointer. I think there’ll be another big day on the Flat with him and he could end up in Galway.

All she wants to do is get into a battle and she stayed the seven furlongs really well today. We always thought she would stay but we kept her in the five and six furlong-maidens last year because they are less competitive. She had no problem staying seven furlongs today and probably didn’t know herself, as she was in her comfort zone early on and seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully she’s a fun filly and we’ll find something with her now. There is a nice fillies handicap in Gowran next Wednesday, so we might look at that.
