Laytown Thu, 10th Sep, 2026  Initial Blue I couldn't walk by the bookies and leave them 'unpestered', he was an incredible price!. It is great when a plan comes off, it was 100 per cent a plan. I went to Newmarket two months ago to buy Staton a horse to get to Laytown. He has come all the way from Arkansas and is a great supporter of the yard, I’m just thrilled for him.

Cork Wed, 9th Sep, 2026  She's On The Ball She bunny-hopped out of the stalls the last day and missed the break and had in-running trouble the previous time. To be fair, Robbie Colgan, who couldn't do today's weight, told me to put a tongue-tie on and it helped,. Like a lot of my horses, my brother Paul picked her out cheaply in England. He gets them and when they're home, I see if they're good enough to keep going. I have six on the go at the minute and rather than going to Dundalk with them during the winter, I'm looking forward to the shorter drives to Tipperary (the new all-weather) when it opens.

Kilbeggan Thu, 3rd Sep, 2026  First Ascent .He won well, cheekpieces helped him today,. It was good to get a winner in those colours. My first ever winner as a trainer was in those colours, Arresting, many moons ago. It was in Perth in 2006. Martin and Alan Egan are with me a long time, so it's brilliant.

Wexford Fri, 28th Aug, 2026  Game Point It was a long time coming. That’s actually the first time he’s ever got his head in front, between the Flat and hurdling,. He is a good horse but, for some reason, it’s taken him this long to get his head in front. I honestly think that will do his confidence the world of good. There is plenty to come from him, he’s a horse that I’ve always loved and I couldn’t believe he hadn’t won until now. Every time he ran I thought he might win, but at least he did it well today. I told Paddy (Cody, son) to pop him out and ride him like the best horse in the race, keep it simple. Since he ran the last day, I had him up with Robbie Power a couple of times, just to get him to be a big slicker over poles. Robbie did a great job with him and I’d say that was a big help to him. Even when he got in tight today, he was quick out over them. He will go back on the Flat but my long-term plan all along has been the Lartigue in Listowel. If he gets into that, that’s where he’ll run next. He’d be in off a very light weight and I could see him running very well there on a left-handed track.

Killarney Fri, 21st Aug, 2026  Jagged Edge We were humming and hawing whether to run, as we wanted him to defend his Cambridgeshire title next weekend, . He won it last year, but would have to lump top weight now and there are smart three-year-olds coming up through the ranks, so we came here instead. He is a proper horse, won very well in Naas previously and at Royal Ascot, he was drawn on the wrong side. He was a very sick horse in the spring when we had him lined up for the Lincoln, and we are only getting to know him now. He is a fine big strapping horse who wouldn't look out of place in a Champion Chase, and he has thrived recently. It has been a quiet enough turf campaign for me, but he is putting me on the map. To get a stakes winner in my second season is special and without my assistant Stephen Mooney, I wouldn't have had the take-off I've had. We picked out Jack Kearney early on and he has delivered on many occasions for us, so I'm delighted for him. It's his first stakes winner too. 

Navan Sat, 11th Jul, 2026  Cool Azul We might have run him back a bit quick at the beginning because he is a big horse. We just gave him that nice bit of a break and it freshened him up. He did that nicely and might have had a wee bit in hand at the end! Billy gave him a lovely ride. A big horse and you would hope that he develops into it.

She's actually due to go to the sales tomorrow. We'll see. We'll discuss it with the owners and see. It's nice to get another win here today and, it's great that there is a big team of the syndicate here today, family and friends.

I thought he was very impressive really and I think he's a smart colt. I suppose the Tyros would be an obvious stepping stone for him from here. Lots to look forward to, hopefully.

Naas Sun, 17th May, 2026  Jagged Edge We were ready to rock and roll for the Irish Lincoln but unfortunately he scoped poorly the week of the race, so we just had to sit and wait,. It's obviously been a very difficult winter to get these horses right for the spring but every trainer is in the same boat. I just had to take my time with this horse. . He had been showing all the right signals at home and, we felt he was just ready to start. We had to back off him and, we had to load him with antibiotics there for a month so, he was just ready to start. Hopefully now the horse has a bright summer in front of him. . We'll have to see what the handicapper does to him but we might make a Royal Hunt Cup entry tomorrow. Hopefully he'll develop into a stakes horse later in the season.

Navan Sat, 25th Apr, 2026  Tribeca A nice horse. He's still babyish, he's still green, and I don't know how quick he is yet. He's an end of April horse and he has a lot to improve. A big, strong horse and I'd say he has a bright future. He has a very good mentality for a Blue Point - he's very relaxed, he does everything right, so I'm delighted with what he did today.
