Wedger Pardy, narrowly denied in this last year, gained compensation in good style.

Settled just behind the leaders he moved to the head of affairs after the fifth last and looked to have the measure of Money Point when that rival crashed out at the last.

The winner has an entry for the La Touche later in the week but could instead run in a hunters chase as trainer Ted Walsh feels the big banks race looks a hot contest.

Banks specialist Enda Bolger, trainer of Money Point, eventually filled the runner-up spot with another charge in Chance Your Arm.

He was making no impression on the leading pair from the second last but stuck on well, without looking a threat.

He held off Easter Saturday, who had also been in the front bunch throughout and stayed on one paced from the second last.

First Down Jets had come from off the pace to move closer running to three out but couldn't get to the leaders and stayed on one paced. Pennybar also made some late ground without posing a danger.
