He got a cut after he won his point-to-point and it put him out a lot. It was great that he put in such a good round of jumping as he was short of experience over park fences. He should improve a lot, he is only six and hopefully he will go higher. James Joseph Mangan, trainer

The Stewards interviewed Mr E.P.O'Brien, rider of Lanespark, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, suspended him for two race day.
