I got the same enjoyment out of winning that as I did winning the All-Ireland! . I'm working with horses full-time now, and I might go back to football next year, but I'm concentrating on the horses for the time being. The Stewards interviewed Mr C.W. Fennessy, rider of Pops Well, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day. The Stewards interviewed Mr C.J. Sweeney, rider of Chestnut Friar, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency, and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days. M.M.Lynch, trainer of Turbinia, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge was found to have blood in a nostril but scoped normally post race.
