T.P. O'Shea, rider of Helen's Armada, trained by John Patrick Shanahan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran short of room in the straight. The Stewards enquired into an incident early in the home straight involving Helen's Armada, ridden by T.P. O'Shea, unplaced, Miss Spellt, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed fifth and Muileata, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed third, where it appeared that Helen's Aarmada ran short off room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the incident was accidental in nature and took no further action.
