The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Timestamp (IRE) which had never previously been placed, was considered.
The representative of George Scott explained that the gelding had appreciated the step up in trip from 1 mile 2 furlongs to 1 mile 6 furlongs with a first-time tongue tie being fitted on this occasion.
They added that Timestamp (IRE) had also benefitted from having been gelded since it’s last run.
Their explanations were noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Wendell's Lass (GB), placed second, had dwelt in the stalls and was slowly away and Charlie Bennett reported that Meisterzinger (IRE), placed fourth, hung left- handed.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Brute Force (GB), placed fifth, finished lame on its left-fore.
