Reports in which Baby Kate (IRE) was mentioned
Champion jockey Paul Townend admits his faces an uphill task to retain this season's title, as the Cheltenham-conqueror today landed Limerick’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden Hurdle on Willie Mullins’ Dani Donadoni (2/5f).
Sun 22nd Mar
Willie Mullins added to his recent domination of the SBF Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle as the well-bred Aurora Vega justified favouritism at Fairyhouse.
Sat 25th Jan
Willie Mullins has dominated the SBK Solerina Mares Novice Hurdle in recent years and again holds a very strong hand with Aurora Vega, Baby Kate and Fancy Girl dominating the market.
Sat 25th Jan
Baby Kate's second wind reaped a full dividend as she ran on well to land the mares' maiden hurdle at Naas.
Mon 16th Dec
After the market principals were all taken out of the mares' maiden hurdle at Thurles, Beauforts Storm readily justified 1/5 favouritism in the hands of David Doyle.
Thu 28th Nov
Patrick Mullins made it 29 winners for the season (from just 47 rides) when 8/13 favourite Baby Kate came late to land the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Flat Race.

Brian was adamant he wanted to be positive on her and while she isn't the most natural jumper, has lots of ability. She would ideally prefer longer and we had her in the three-miler at Kelso yesterday but felt this looked a better opportunity. I think she will probably be retired after that as there is no obvious place for her to go and she has got her blacktype success and other wins. Kevin Doyle (owner/breeder and ex-Irish footballer) kindly leased her to us and I'm sure he is looking forward to breeding from her now.

That was great - she looked beaten, but once she pulled out and got daylight, Brian said she just got her second wind and away with her. I'm very pleased with her because I think the other mare (Karoline Banbou) is good, two nice mares first and second. At this stage of the year, everything has to step up into graded company. There's not much left, but it'll be after the New Year.
