I wasn't inclined to run him but Sean said the ground was safe enough and stayed out wide, where there was some more juice,. There was a lot of carnage in the race and I hope everyone is alright, but you need a bit of luck in this game. He encountered carnage everywhere around, with horses falling in front of him but maybe it kept him that wee bit more interested. What can you say about Sean, who is now a Champion Chase-winning jockey and a big thanks to the lads at home, as he isn't the easiest horse to work with. He can be free and keen and they keep a lid on him. That's him qualified for the Final at Punchestown so we'll put him away for that now and give the boys a day out.

After ten years training, that's my first chase winner. I've haven't had many runners and had placed horses but I generally get a cheaper type of horse so tend to run in bumpers and over hurdles. He blew up twice the last day he ran in Fairyhouse and we knew we had him proper right for today. It took a long time to get him back to winning ways . It is brilliant for Aidan O'Brien, who is the head of the syndicate and is principal of the school (Good Counsel College) where Sean Flanagan and many other racing people attended. They have stuck by me so I'm delighted for them.

the owners are the Good Counsel School in New Ross and Sean (Flanagan) went to school there. It is great to get a winner for them and the connection comes from another former pupil Jonathan Moore (jockey) who advises me. we always thought a wee bit of him and we thought maybe Mighty Mo Missouri might have got a hard race at Cheltenham and we were glad to take him on on the day. I think he'll handle any ground but I think he'll be better on better ground. Hopefully he can improve now and tip on. He had a high rating on the flat coming from Mark Johnson but I bought him (for 6,500gns) on the first day of a sale and picked up two or three nice horses that day.
