Leopardstown Thu, 18th Jun, 2026  Apollo's Comet She had a lovely run the first day. She didn't get the clearest of gaps at the bottom of the home straight in Fairyhouse. I think she would have been a lot closer. In turn, she didn't get a hard race that day. This looked a nice opportunity. It's not many Mehmas' get into these auction races, so it just looked a nice opportunity for her and, she just got there and did enough. She is a lovely filly for next year. We'll give her a bit of time and bring her back maybe the end of July.

Fairyhouse Fri, 5th Jun, 2026  Florida Bay He had a lovely run with Wayne (Lordan) the first day in Leopardstown, when he just got squeezed a bit late on. If you come here with a run under your belt it’s a fair help on this track. With normal improvement we thought he’d be hard to beat but he was still fairly green. Jack made it on him and when the second horse came to him it helped him, he found plenty for pressure. He’s a lovely type of colt and he’ll have no problem stepping up into stakes company. He’ll probably go to Naas next for the Pat Smullen listed race. If he doesn’t go there he could be one for the Tyros Stakes. Jack said he’d probably be better going up to a mile. He’s a horse that finds plenty for pressure and once he puts it together he’ll be a nice horse for the back end.

Fairyhouse Thu, 28th May, 2026  Moyassr The last day (fifth at Leopardstown) he ran well enough from a bad draw. . I always thought this trip would suit him, but he still had to prove that. It’s nearly a mile-and-three in Dundalk and I think that was a bit far, this is an easier mile-and-two. I think it suited him perfectly and he relaxed better, which was something he wasn’t doing. We went down to the start to help that and he stayed relaxed throughout. I’ll always make them a bit slower anyway, so he probably will stay!. He’s well handicapped, in theory, but has taken a while to prove it.

Roscommon Mon, 11th May, 2026  Cisterna He was knocking on the door. . He was second in a nursery, but then disappointed a bit and we were doubting his resolution at times. Another owner had him, and I told the lads to buy him as he’d win a race for them. He’s done that. He’ll tip away. That was a 0-70 and he’ll still get into another one. He would have got into a 0-60 but there wasn’t one for him. John Quinn, a member of the (Alltheblues) syndicate, lives in Monaghan now but he’s born and reared two miles up the road from here.

Dundalk Fri, 27th Feb, 2026  Oxford Circus That's three wins now, it is actually unbelievable! These things seem to happen to me when I get going, things seem to fly early, so hopefully the momentum stays. I'm very lucky, Denis is very good to me and is putting me on the right ones as well, so the credit really goes to him and his work at home with all the lads. I think the penny really dropped today, Oxford Circus was probably still a little novicey the first couple of times, but still ran creditably. Back over the six (furlongs), I think just having that experience under his belt and it was a weak enough race today. He finishes really strong - he gallops into it beautifully and he hits a little bit of a flat spot, but he stays very well.

Dundalk Fri, 6th Feb, 2026  Una Matata she's tough and was a cheap filly, so I’m delighted for her, Adam (Caffrey) and the lads (Mark Devlin, Mark McGuckin & Claire Wylie). She has won three here for us this winter, has been placed a few times and it is a great to get fillies like that - it keeps things ticking over. Adam said she might have a little bit in hand still. I've no real plans for her, she will keep plugging away and could come back here for finals day or we could go across the water with her. We'll give her a little bit of an easy week because she has two races on the trot.

However, they were so unlucky as they were all beaten by heads and short-heads, so it wasn't anyone's fault. This is a game filly, she is going the right way, is tough and she will keep going. I'll be honest, I have to give full credit to Seamie Heffernan because I said she just likes a little lead and he didn't panic. His experience won it. There's a 0-90 next month, so we will go there and we will have a chat about going to either Lingfield or Newcastle on Good Friday. I'd love to go to the turf in the middle of the summer - you wouldn't know with this one.
