Naas Mon, 3rd Aug, 2026  Red Evolution We just wanted to get this lad a bit of a confidence booster. He’s been pitched into two high-class handicaps at the Curragh this year,. said O’Callaghan. We felt dropping in grade would help and sticking at six. Dylan was happy with him today. He said he jumped well, travelled and was able to get a tow into the race and hit the line strongly. He felt like that should have helped him plenty confidence-wise and he thought he was probably better than the winning margin. We’ll probably stick to six for now and have a look at the programme book. We’ll see what the handicapper does with him. Last year he looked like a very progressive, and potentially high-class sprinter. Hopefully now we can get him back into that group. Dylan said the stiff six is key to him. There was enough pace early today that he was able to relax and get him into a rhythm.

Galway Tue, 28th Jul, 2026  Sindagan With his rating alone, he had a great chance and he has been consistent all year. He ran into a very good horse the last day, when he finished seven lengths clear of the third,. The Irish handicap system is hard on you (moving from 83 to 96) but, saying that, at the start of the year I did think he would get to that mark. However finishing second and going to 96 is hardship, but it is all about today and it is great to get a winning bracket. There is a seven-furlong Listed race in Cork for him next.

She jumped and travelled today, is getting more professional and hit the line well. Progeny of Mehmas are good horses and are versatile ground-wise, so we'll see how she is in the morning and everyone is hoping for black-type with these fillies.

Leopardstown Thu, 23rd Jul, 2026  Florida Bay Very happy. The last day, they went too fast. They got ganged up and they went too hard. Wayne gave him a good ride. He let him bowl along and he won nicely. He's not slow - even a mile could be far enough for him. He could be a horse for the Futurity.

Curragh Sun, 19th Jul, 2026  La Tache He's slow out of the gates. Colin says he's never going to be any other way. That's who he is. We even bounced him, which I'd never do at home, since his last run. He's just so laid back. He's not a five-furlong horse. He's going to be a grand horse for Philip and Norma Richards. Another horse Keri has bought for them, so another sprinter to look forward to. It's just taken a while for the penny to drop with him. I'm delighted with the filly (Southern Boulevard, third), she's after running a blinder. She ran away with Gary going to the start in Naas, so we put a different bit on her and we put earplugs in her. I'm gobsmacked to see that she did what she did and stayed going. She's going to develop into a nice horse, that filly.

Killarney Mon, 13th Jul, 2026  City of Dubai He’s a nice horse. He’s a horse that we’ve had a lot of regard for all year and he just came here ready to run. I thought if he did things right, he could do what he did and if it went wrong, he could finish fourth, that’s exactly what I told the owners this morning. There is a good history in the race and if we can be half as good as some of the previous winners, I’d be happy. His mother is by Galileo and he’s by Mehmas, I think he’ll get a mile-and-a-quarter as a three-year-old. He’s a big scopey horse with a staying pedigree. Today was a start and I’d like to take another step, if we can, before I get into anything. I think he’s very much a three-year-old so we’ll see how we go.

Leopardstown Thu, 18th Jun, 2026  Apollo's Comet She had a lovely run the first day. She didn't get the clearest of gaps at the bottom of the home straight in Fairyhouse. I think she would have been a lot closer. In turn, she didn't get a hard race that day. This looked a nice opportunity. It's not many Mehmas' get into these auction races, so it just looked a nice opportunity for her and, she just got there and did enough. She is a lovely filly for next year. We'll give her a bit of time and bring her back maybe the end of July.

Fairyhouse Fri, 5th Jun, 2026  Florida Bay He had a lovely run with Wayne (Lordan) the first day in Leopardstown, when he just got squeezed a bit late on. If you come here with a run under your belt it’s a fair help on this track. With normal improvement we thought he’d be hard to beat but he was still fairly green. Jack made it on him and when the second horse came to him it helped him, he found plenty for pressure. He’s a lovely type of colt and he’ll have no problem stepping up into stakes company. He’ll probably go to Naas next for the Pat Smullen listed race. If he doesn’t go there he could be one for the Tyros Stakes. Jack said he’d probably be better going up to a mile. He’s a horse that finds plenty for pressure and once he puts it together he’ll be a nice horse for the back end.

It’s nearly a mile-and-three in Dundalk and I think that was a bit far, this is an easier mile-and-two. I think it suited him perfectly and he relaxed better, which was something he wasn’t doing. We went down to the start to help that and he stayed relaxed throughout. I’ll always make them a bit slower anyway, so he probably will stay!. He’s well handicapped, in theory, but has taken a while to prove it.

Another owner had him, and I told the lads to buy him as he’d win a race for them. He’s done that. He’ll tip away. That was a 0-70 and he’ll still get into another one.
