It has been painful! Going from his bumper wins and the way he works at home, it has been a calamity. He is a work-in-progress regarding his jumping. He has been very slow to learn and Ger Fox schooled him at the weekend and Ger couldn't believe how he hadn't got the hang of it. When he left him alone at a hurdle, he still needs a lot of help. It is a mental thing with him and hopefully he is switched on now. I told Alex to be very definite with what he wanted him to do at each hurdle - either to go short or to go long. It will come and that might boost his confidence. He has the engine there if he put it all together that he could turn into a really nice horse, but it is great to get that over with.

He's just special, isn't he, cause he's a slow horse and he probably wants a bit further than that. The race cut up with the divide. . In fairness the owners are very lucky fellas, they've been lucky colours. This fella won four for them last year and they had another mare who won three or four for them as well. . He jumps fences alright so we might try that again. He's up (in the ratings) a bit over hurdles but he can go over hurdles as well. . Jumping helps him a bit, it gives him a little more pace. . He's entered next week but it might be a bit quick, he'll hardly go up much for that run.

His trip is three and a-half (miles) plus. He had a lovely run in the Porterstown and it worked out very well. Just had no luck with him after that. He ran well the last day, but he was due that win. When you go back through his form, it was pretty good. Without a doubt (going out in trip) - you won't get too many races over three miles, two (furlongs). There is one coming back here. and Danny said he might get into the Kerry National. He was third as a novice in Punchestown over nearly four miles. It is great to get it.

She stays well and jumps well, but I wasn't happy the two hurdles were taken out because she's a great jumper,. It was a disadvantage to her. She was going well and Conor just tipped her on. She ran well in Roscommon the last day and got kind of caught back and they just quickened on her. I wouldn't blame the ground; it was just a tighter track and they went a bit steady and got first run on her. We were happy with the run and there wasn't a bother on her after the race. She has come good. We tweaked her wind and she won two - it was just a small procedure. I had her entered in a chase but she wasn't getting in in Wexford, so we would love to send her over fences straight away. She's a great jumper and we have her schooling over fences once a week. We are looking forward to that.

we were a bit disappointed the last day, when she was a bit slowly away and missed the first fence, although were delighted to see trainer Val O’Brien winning the race. She did that well today, has to have good ground and to be ridden like that. She’s a brilliant jumper. The boys (Mrs Crogh's Syndicate, which includes former Tipperary hurler Lar Corbett) would like a day out so we might go to one of those meetings in Cheltenham off a light weight. Down Royal gets good ground and could be an option, but the boys like Cheltenham!

He missed the second-last but Donagh (Meyler) thought that he was going to get back up,. We paid a good few quid (55,000gns) for him out of Andrew Balding's and he took time to come right. I’m thrilled. Darragh and I would be very good friends, we don’t get him as often now as we have our own people at home. I’m delighted to support him and try and get him a winner or two. It’s wonderful for the owners (Nice Little Earner Syndicate), they are a great bunch of guys. He ran a nice race in Cork the last day. I said to Darragh that he was probably a big horse for around here and to take his time and sneak away. He’s class. Tiernan (Power Roche) gave the other horse (Plain Or Battered) a very good ride to finish second as well, he stayed going really well. I didn’t think either horse would handle the track but, with the night that’s in it (leading the William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series), we had to give it a good go. It’s marvellous that it’s paid off. Winning the series is huge and that helps with the stable staff prize as well. I know Gavin (Cromwell) is chasing us hard for that. It’s lovely winning my own prize, but it would be fabulous if we could win the stable staff one as well.
