Curragh Sun, 28th Jun, 2026  Purview I was delighted for the horse and for the owners. Juddmonte have been great supporters of mine and I appreciate the family’s support. He’s a very talented colt; he’s beginning to fill into the promise that I always thought he would. I think there is a long year ahead of him still and we’ll look at different options. I’ve always been thinking that at the end of this year he would come to his peak, so today was only a step along the way.

Curragh Sun, 28th Jun, 2026  Pierre Royal Barry Potts was with me when we bought him. We liked him, he was very lightly raced and had a nice profile. We thought there was a good bit of improvement in him. He cost 48,000 and he was well bought as usually those horses are making treble that. They are not easy bought. He looked a nice model, and we’ve been lucky out of Mr Weld’s before. It was nice to get another one. He’s a big horse and he needed a bit of time. We love Ballybrit so I’d say that will be our next port of call. Then Champions Weekend and then we might have to get our suncream!

Gowran Park Mon, 1st Jun, 2026  Amenita She did it nicely and got a lovely ride from Chris Hayes, he rode her with confidence and just produced her in the last furlong. I think she’ll go another furlong. She settled nicely for him and when he pulled her out, she settled it pretty quickly. We’ll see how she comes out of the race before we make any decisions for her.

Fairyhouse Thu, 28th May, 2026  Guardian Of Realm We knew that was in her locker, just things had to go right. She’s a little bit headstrong and I said to Colin going out ‘if I was riding her I’d settle her from the front, but I’m not saying she’ll let you’. We knew she had that ability so that’s nice. That’s a box ticked, winning her maiden, and I’ll talk to Barry Mahon (Juddmonte racing manager) now and see where we go.

Wexford Wed, 27th May, 2026  Kilt That’s fantastic as he’s been a very tricky horse and was a runaway on the Flat. I said to Shane to ride him four lengths last, to try and sit there as long as he could but if he was getting keen on him not to disappoint him. The owners are great. The Sloans are from the north and it’s the first horse they’ve had with me. A special mention to William Jones, who is from Dubai and married to one of my best friends. They are great supporters and have a few lovely horses at home to run over the next year. They are really good people and I’m delighted to have a winner for them.

Curragh Sat, 23rd May, 2026  Purview It was an excellent performance, he’s a lovely colt. He has matured and developed as I always thought he would. We’ve a lot to look forward to with him. He’s always been operating at Group level and he was just a big, immature, horse last year. He’s just matured nicely over the winter. This was his first time over a mile-and-a-half. I was always keen to try him over a mile-and-a-half. He settled beautifully, got a lovely ride from Colin, and you saw the rest. It’s something that we will reflect upon, discuss it with Barry (Mahon) and with the owners and decide. I think he’s a horse to look forward to. The ground is beautiful here at the Curragh today and that’s his ground.
