the ground has gone very testing, even for the first race, as we had plenty of rain overnight and this morning. The race fell apart and she was in front sooner than we wanted but she's very brave and honest. Oisin felt she was going away again at the line and it actually took him a while to pull her up. She'll want much better ground and hopefully will be a nice filly for next year. We'll bring her back next year now and hopefully she can continue to do the family proud. D K Weld, trainer

The Stewards enquired into an incident turning out of the back straight involving Epona Plays, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed third, Moonwalk, ridden by M.C. Hussey, unplaced, and Pyramid Rock, ridden by S. Foley, placed fifth, where it appeared that M. C. Hussey ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference was accidental in nature and they took no further action

W.M. Lordan, rider of Holy Roman Empress trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned left up the straight

S. Foley, rider of Pyramid Rock trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was very green throughout

R.P. Whelan, rider of Sindhia trained by M.Halford, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost her action two furlongs from home.
