I’m delighted Reese was able to ride a (first) winner for me, as he is apprenticed to me but has ridden winners for plenty others. That's his first double and he gave that horse a great ride, and knows him inside out. The owners (Up The Blues Syndicate) are a great bunch of lads and they love it. We have been unlucky with him, though, so the horse deserves it more than anything else. We were finishing second and third, and second and third, and had a few hard luck stories. Every time he was finishing placed, he was getting raised a pound or two so we said we would try something different and tried him over a mile and a-quarter the last day. He is versatile, but that is his grade. He has won on soft ground as well, so we don't know where we are going to go. As long as he stays running like that, we'll stay going. As long as he stays enjoying it, we will stay going. If he tells us that he has enough, we will pull the plug and give him a break and freshen him up and come again.

I put a few off him as I didn't think he was 100 per cent fit coming here today. He's tough, he's genuine. He loves to get into a bit of a bumping match, he came alive. They are a great bunch of lads (Up The Blues Syndicate) and they follow him everywhere. They are lucky to get a horse like that and they appreciate him, they know how lucky they are to have him. He's a consistent horse and Keithen gets on well with him. He was mighty on him. He is lazy and idle and he was pushing and shoving him from a long way. Keithen is actually from Monasterevin so they all know each other, they are all neighbours and having good craic. He just keeps surprising us every day and we don't know how far he can go.

There was 30 of the syndicate meant to come here on Friday night, but it was cancelled. . There's a good crew of them at home and Ithink they are all going to the local pub, Mooney's of Monasterevin. They're a great bunch of lads and they are getting a great kick out of the horse. . Where we go next, we don't know - we might give him a little break or we might come back up here, I'm not sure. . It was mighty and delighted for the lads.

It is a local syndicate, it is the local club Monasterevin. Mark Kelly runs it and all the boys used to play for Monasterevin - Keithen, who rode him today, and Ronan Whelan all used to play football for Monasterevin. It is a complete local success and it is like a county final!
