it is nice to get him back as he had been in the doldrums for a while, although in the last couple of weeks he had been showing that bit of a spark at home. He always had a laid-back style and I decided to put the blinkers on, which definitely helped his jumping. I’d been waiting for his customary jumping-mistakes but he didn’t make them today. There’s a 2m4f beginners’ chase at Wexford in a few weeks time, so we’ll see how he comes out of this and he could also have a Flat campaign. That’s Carl’s second ride for us and first winner for us, and he settled him grand and the horse jumped well for him.

He gave him a brilliant ride. Sean said he came for him every time he asked him,. He needed to jump the last and he was long at it. He seems to be jumping far better since he was gelded. In Galway he jumped poorly when he was odds-on favourite and the jumping just didn't work. He's a bit more clinical now, he'd never go long before, and he was very good today. We might look at the Coral Cup with him. That's where the lads would love to go. We'd have to look at a Pertemps qualifier as well, it would be great to have more options, but that might be tight enough.

That happens in those conditions, when it softens like that, some handle it and some don't,. He's a right little horse. John Halley bought him out of Ballydoyle and he's a good pal of ours. We bought him after he schooled here around the eight. We liked him and we're delighted to get him. He was only beaten a few lengths in the Boodles and was third in the Grade 1 at Punchestown. I'd say the Galway Hurdle will maybe be next now. He fits that bill and Chris said he could maybe come back here for the Irish Cesarewitch.

He has a lovely attitude for a fella that is still a colt. Hopefully he’ll be an ideal weight in the Boodles and he’ll have a chance in that. He might improve on a bit better ground being by Galileo. Bryan said he’s learning all the time and he seems to be progressing.
