Galway Mon, 27th Jul, 2026  Comfort Zone It’s fantastic, it was a great ride from Derek. We fancied him in the race last year and he didn’t run as well as we had hoped. Probably getting a bit of room on the outside there, he got very sweet. The slower ground maybe helped him as well. He’s run well here at Galway in the past so you might see him back here at the weekend. He’s won a November Handicap and a couple of graded races over hurdles so he’s been a great servant for us. He’s been running for big pots for the last while and he’s been knocking on the door and threatening to win one. I’m delighted that he did it here today, to win the feature race here on the Monday night is very special and it sets up the week well. Derek is a fantastic rider and it was great to have him on board. It looked a bit messy during the race and into the dip it looked to be a rough enough race. Derek got a wide run around them. I’d have to see it again but a few of them ran a little bit below par, but that’s Galway.

Ballinrobe Mon, 20th Jul, 2026  War Rooms He's probably been the dearest horse we've ever had and has been overall disappointing, so I'm delighted to get his head in front. He probably had an inflated rating from coming third in the Dante, and has come down about 20 pounds since we got him. He probably parked a bit in front, and was waiting for them to come at him. He minds himself a bit and is a little bit soft, a bit cowardly. I doubt he'll go to Galway, he didn't enjoy the hustle and bustle there last year. We'll look for flatter tracks like Killarney and Listowel, if we can find suitable races for him there. He'd probably stay two miles on the Flat, and we'll go back hurdling with him later in the year.

Leopardstown Thu, 16th Jul, 2026  Cooley's Mist He prefers a little bit of ease. Maybe two mile in Galway could be a possibility, if he gets an ease. . He's in here next week as well over a mile and seven. If it doesn't rain, he won't be going anywhere. Chris was good on him, I have to say.

Leopardstown Thu, 9th Jul, 2026  Duckadilly She was my first winner as a licenced trainer and, as I said the last time, every year she has put me on the map. She won a rated race last year and, obviously she got her stakes win in a Listed race at the start of this year. She has really let down into herself this year and, as the saying goes with fillies when they get older, they do tend to improve. It's brilliant to get a Listed race at the start of the year and, to win a Group race, for value and everything else, even my training career it's brilliant. I won't say it's unbelievable because it is believable when you work for it. All the lads in the yard, they work very hard and it's just reward for all them. It makes you get up every day when you love what you're doing. Chris (Mullins) was the first man to have a horse with me. He had Bold Optimist at the start as well. He has supported me all the way. When I was starting off with three horses, he was with me. So, it's only rewarding that he is the owner of my first Group winner. Long may it last. She's in the Matron Stakes again. We learned how to ride her from how she ran in it last year. She deserves a crack at it again and that would be her main target.

Tramore Tue, 7th Jul, 2026  Voice Of Reason Myself and my son Michael )owner) saw him run in a claiming race here (in April 2025) but left him alone, although came back for him the following month when we bought him for €4,000. Good ground is the key to him and he is a revelation at Dundalk. He needs that two-mile distance and Robbie (Colgan) said he could have gone around again today. He is a very genuine horse. My son Michael, who rides out for Joseph O'Brien and recently finished his college degree, won on him at Dundalk last winter and we manage both this horse and (stablemate) Hero Of The Hour between the family.

Dylan just said that when he got to the front he was having a real good look around. It's nice to win with him and, he'll go back into stakes company now. He could potentially run on Derby weekend, or he could go on to Roscommon and, there's Limerick - the Martin Molony and the Lenabane. They are both coming up as well.

Navan Sun, 7th Jun, 2026  Duckadilly We had her in the sale last year and we weren't getting what we wanted for her. We took her back and the plan was to try and win a stakes race and maybe go back there (sales). As you see, she is a gorgeous, big filly. She has plenty of size and plenty of substance. She will make into a nice broodmare someday. To win my first black-type race here and to have the 1-2 as well is unbelievable!. You just have to move on (from Magny Cours incident in the Irish 1,000 Guineas) - I'll stop when the clock does, and the clock doesn't stop! You have to move on. Life always challenges you no matter what you do. The horses were taking a run, and they went through a bit of a patch when they just weren't firing. We just weren't happy, so we took a pull until we were happy with them and they started to come. They started to come in their coats the last two weeks and started to work a bit better. I was telling the owners that the last ten days I was really happy with the horses. That was great there today and I couldn't imagine it working out like that. It is magical really.

Gowran Park Wed, 20th May, 2026  Sanctijude We were talking beforehand how do we win it. It was grand to get it done. Billy said he'd go forward but I said if someone wants to go forward, I'd love it to ride like a bit of work and have her come into it. That's the way it worked out, so I'm delighted. I'm delighted for Michael and Dymphna Deegan; they're getting on a flight at 5.30 to fly out to Kenya, I think, to visit their sister who is seventy, so a nice present for them.
