it didn’t work (making the running) in Ayr and we didn’t want to break her heart again so we said lets try something different and if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work.

I'm surprised as all the talk was about the other horse (Pakora),. She's a decent filly and she came up against a well-handicapped horse, I thought, in Perth. That was the best exhibition of jumping she has put in. That's the thing about four-year-olds, there is room for improvement with them. She seems to be getting better and it's a nice little pot to win. We might go for the Lartigue with her although I don't know what the handicapper is going to do to us now. She likes the ground and it will be ground dependent. It's hard to evaluate that race. Either the two behind have run below form or she's run very well. I'd say to Sandy Shaw (the handicapper) that the two of them have run below par!. She's a decent filly in her own right. She's 85 on the Flat so is entitled to be what she is over hurdles and she tries.
John C McConnell
She’s an improving filly and is getting the hang of things over hurdles. It was important that she won today as her owner (Derek Kierans) is a local man and was back from America to see her run. She is useful on the Flat as well and there are plenty of options for her.
John C McConnell
That was good and very important for us as we've very few for the Flat. It's nice to get a little bit of luck as you don't get much of it. I'm delighted for Martin Cullinane (owner) as he took what happened in Limerick well and he deserves that. The last day he got trapped in and had to make a move and they moved as well which looked dramatic. It's unfortunate because if he had waited a fraction the gap would have come. When you have a missed opportunity like that there is pressure next time and she beat a good filly from a top yard today. She stays well and if you go through her form she was always going to be a good filly. There was a horse in behind her that won here today. On her first run on Champions weekend she stood in the stalls and let them off but finished strongly. I don't think she's ever run a bad race for us. It's only when she's stepped up in trip that the best has come out. She's had two quick runs and we'll see what Martin wants to do now. I'll give her an entry in the Munster Oaks to have her in there and see where we go from there.
