Father Jack galloped on strongly in the closing stages to run out a convincing winner of the two-and-a-half mile handicap hurdle at Fairyhouse. Wed 06th Nov
He still had to go and do it and I suppose a couple of runs in chases last year he lost a bit of confidence over fences. He jumped well today and I'm delighted with him. He'll be kept going now in similar company. You might see him back here if there is a suitable race for him. Conditions and everything suited him. Robbie said he jumped well. He doesn't like to be crowded. He likes a bit of room so Robbie gave him a good spin round. He's rated high enough over hurdles now so we'll keep to chasing for the time being. The E R syndicate are from Donegal. There are five members spread around Letterkenny. Three of them made it down here. He has won five times for them now so he is paying his way.
Mrs Gillian Callaghan
He normally never travels and he was getting stronger turning into the straight. I was just hoping nothing would do me for toe but he kept going and he did it easy. He'll got through soft ground I'd say, he just wouldn't want proper heavy ground. His form figures may not have looked that great but he was running in some competitive handicaps and he was back in his own grade today.
Mrs Gillian Callaghan
A good first run for us. We probably have him six or seven weeks. He schooled well over hurdles. He's genuine and better ground would suit him better.
Mrs Gillian Callaghan
