Formscan - BLACK VELVET BOY might not have the same amount of scope as a few of these, but the Quinns' gelding has a very willing attitude and can continue his progress. After recording his first two successes at Beverley and Windsor, the son of Soldier's Call bumped into an improver at Thirsk and was then edged out at Newmarket. He has been raised a further 3lb but, judged on recent performances, it still appears to be workable. Nursery debutants Instant Force and Noble Raider merit respect and don't discount Harley, who could improve for the addition of first-time cheekpieces.
