It would be nice to win one as we’re after getting close twice. I’m delighted to win that, it’ll do her confidence good as well. It was like a nice bit of work really. This year she’s gotten bigger and stronger and has really come to herself. We thought she wanted soft ground but she seems to be able to handle fast ground. I think she’d even be better with a little bit of ease in the ground. We’ll head for Mallow (Abergwaun Stakes on August 30th) and look forward to that.

Galway Thu, 30th Jul, 2026  Cala Bonita I thought she actually ran a great race the other evening at Gowran, when she drawn out wide and didn't get much of a run. She seemed well this morning so we took our chance and while we thought she wanted to go up in trip, it was obviously no issue. I'm delighted for Shay (Gillen), from Tullamore, as he is my principal supporter and it is great to have a winner here again this year, as I drew a blank last year. We've had winners with three horses here in the past and obviously One Cool Poet won three times in 2019. To get one here is always brilliant. She is second-reserve for a race on Saturday and if she gets in, she'll run all being well.

Leopardstown Thu, 16th Jul, 2026  Marmeladova She didn't get a truly-run race at times. She has to be ridden for a bit of luck too, and things fell her way today. I was half-slagging Billy on the way in, that he went too soon! As he says himself, she seems to like just getting in behind and having something different happening. . She obviously has a bit of ability because she quickened up well, and then she seemed to think she had enough done.

Bellewstown Fri, 3rd Jul, 2026  Private Larry You'd be worried (about the trip) being by Inns Of Court, but Gavin thought a mile and a half is his trip. Gavin was adamant for a long time. It was a mile and one in Leopardstown and he broke really badly that day as well. I think today he broke a bit better. I know he was out the back, but Gavin has timed it perfectly. There's hurdling options as well. He has schooled a lot over hurdles. We have the option of going to Killarney in two weeks for the three-year-old maiden there. He jumps very well actually, he's a real natural jumper. I think hurdling should probably be his future. He really likes it and has taken to jumping very well. Gavin is a great fella and any time I need him to ride work he's there. He is attached to some big yards and is flying. I didn't want any jockey bar Gavin to ride him today because I just knew he would know him so well. He just gave him the perfect ride and crept away.

Fairyhouse Wed, 1st Jul, 2026  Treasure Rose Ben has been adamant to drop her back to six as she shows so much pace, I thought seven furlongs was a good trip for her,. She has pace and she’s getting faster with a bit of racing. Sometimes with these fillies when they get their head in front once it makes all the difference. She had five seconds so we were scratching our heads but she’s on a bit of a roll now. She’s a fine big filly and hopefully she can keep improving.

Fairyhouse Thu, 28th May, 2026  Are You In Or Out That was good. They went good and hard and she was able to pick up the pieces. She’s won here before on slower ground, and I was a bit worried that she might be caught for pace. She was a bit slow away and she came through them. Over six furlongs around here they always go quick, lads trying to get a possy. It fell her way, she got a lovely run up the inner and got there in time. We’ve nothing really planned out for her. She was on 60 there and had a lot of weight to carry. We’ll see what the handicapper does now, and then see where we go for the summer.

Gowran Park Tue, 5th May, 2026  Aurora Mist We fancied her the last day and she ran stink. We found out that she had an entrapped epiglottis and she had an operation for it. That explains the improvement,. She got a lovely run down the inner and she gave her a lovely ride. I’m hoping she’ll improve from that, I don’t think she was fully straight today and she said she had a blow at the furlong pole. The handicapper can’t do much to her for that.
