The whole plan was obviously to go back chasing with him and the plan now is to go to the Troytown. I didn't want to run him in today's earlier chase as if he won he'd have risked picking up a penalty, so I said we might as well have a run over hurdles where he is rated 15lb lower. He had a setback after his last run and when I got him back later in the season, it was too late to run. He has grown up, matured and grown a lot stronger as he had been a big shell of a horse. His owner Philip Polly is in Dubai so hopefully he is watching on TV.

He’s a horse that’s always had his own mind. As a young horse he didn’t handle the tough tacky ground - it might be a little bit dead there, but I’d say it might have suited him. The second horse (Kilbrin Rocco), of Eoin McCarthy’s, had a great run, but he might want it slightly better and I’d say we got our ground. He was out all winter and came in a bit poor. He got six or eight weeks of lunging and three weeks of riding and he ran a great race in Limerick. We were happy to be in the first three today. He minds a bit for himself and I’d say the main thing is to hunt around and let him enjoy himself.

He’s a magical horse. Things just didn’t go his way in Punchestown (last time) and he was very unlucky he didn’t win the Mayo National,. He got a fall in Galway and lost his way a little bit after it. That’s seven races he’s won now, he’s a phenomenal horse. He’s a well-bred horse and a good strong horse. He’s improving every day and hopefully there is another day in him. I’m thrilled with the way he jumped. He didn’t miss a beat bar the second last and I’d say it helped him because he would have been in front too soon. He’s only five so we’ll give him another bit of a break before he runs again. He likes a bit of nice ground. My brother Darragh owned a point-to-point winner today at Castletown Geoghegan as well, so it’s been a great day. It is nice to have one to come and race in the big race on a Sunday and it is brilliant to win,. . Mark said there was likely to be plenty of pace in the race so I said to him to bounce out and go with them. He has a tendency to jump left so Mark's plan was to get out to the outer. He made plenty use of his light weight. He was very lucky to win in Kilbeggan when he would have finished third or fourth only for two horses to fall and was then unlucky at Downpatrick when he jumped violently left at the second-last. It is great he got his day today. This season has went unbelievably well, this is our biggest win and the horses are running to their ability. We have 18 riding out and we're tipping away thank God. All winners help but the big winners will hopefully put us in the shop window. The phone will be fully charged so we'll see how things go.
