Formscan By Mark Nunan - The form of the course and distance maiden won by GREAT BARRIER REEF hasn’t been enhanced by those behind him, but the No Nay Never colt was visually impressive as he scooted clear to post a six-length victory. Races like the Coventry and Dewhurst were mentioned in the aftermath and it will be a surprise if he’s not better suited by the likely quicker ground on this occasion. Edward Thatch won easily over 5f at Cork and is another who will be running on good ground for the first time. Otherworldly had a luckless passage when second to Immortal Guard over course and distance and, despite being 4lb worse off, can reverse those placings. %0A

Quotes on Carry The Flag (IRE)
He obviously had a lovely run the first day on very different ground. Coming here, we hoped he'd win and, in fairness, he got the job done. . Wayne felt just on the quicker ground, it's probably the quickest ground he's ever been on even at home, he just couldn't get fully traction, he's just rolling around. When the other filly came on his outside it really helped him. He'll put himself in the Ascot mix now and, we'll see how he progresses and, where he fits in. Jack's filly (Cleary, on Sun Goddess) is a lovely filly too. We'll try and get one more run into her and, hopefully she turns into an Ascot filly too.

Quotes on Edward Thatch (IRE)
he is a nice horse and we think a lot of him. The first day (at the Curragh) he went fast but today he settled well and kept it simple. He won comfortably in the end. I think he could be a seven-furlong or mile-type in the end and I’m very happy with everything he has done today, including his attitude. Hopefully he will improve and we have a nice horse. I think he will run next in the Marble Hill Stakes (Curragh over six furlongs, late-May) and then we will think about the Coventry at Royal Ascot. He got away with five furlongs today being on slower ground but on faster ground, it will have to be six for him. He is a big two-year-old and I’m happy with his attitude.

Quotes on Immortal Guard (IRE)
I was very happy with this horse at home. He shows a lot of class, a lot of ability. I just waited for him to strengthen because he is still a little bit weak,. Whatever he does today he will improve a lot. The coat has still not come on him. I'm very happy for the stallion as well, with four wins in the last few weeks, so everything is coming the right way. This horse, I think, will have improve a lot.

Quotes on Lars Soldier (IRE)
He ran well here the last day. I told Wesley going out to keep him fairly forward as he had a bit more experience than the other horses and I think that’s what won it,. The other horse was very green and the penny didn’t drop until late on. It’s nice to win a Curragh maiden as a two-year-old at the start of the season. I don’t know where we’ll go from here. If some lad comes with a big cheque this fella (brother Laurence, the horse’s owner) might sell him!. He’s a good honest little horse.
