Formscan By Shane Redmond - This is a big chance for GORGEOUS TOM (3) to record his first win in almost two years. He has run some big races since taking a Grade 3 novice chase at Cork in November of 2024, notably when runner-up to Firefox in a Grade 2 at Down Royal in November of last year and more recently when third to King Alexander in the Galway Plate. Similarly, Croke Park is winless since his success in a Grade 1 novice chase at Leopardstown's Christmas meeting in 2024. He was a place behind Gorgeous Tom at Down Royal last November and probably has it all to do on his first run of the season. The novice Apple's Of Bresil is far more lightly-raced and might need to improve on his efforts at Kilbeggan and Listowel to challenge his more battle-hardened rivals.

Quotes on Apple's Of Bresil (FR)
He had a little bit of a suspensory issue, nothing major, and we just had to give him the time,. He’s a big horse and he always looked like he was going to be better over a fence. He goes on good ground so I’d say we’ll keep him going for the summer now. I’d like to get him to Galway if I can, we’ll see how he comes out of the race. There is a handicap back here in a couple of weeks. If he bounced out of the race we might look at that. You have to have three runs before you can run in any of the bigger chases. It’s a great first step so we are thrilled. Tim (O’Driscoll) is abroad, in either France or Spain. I can’t keep up with him. He’s had a good old time of it and we’ll keep him over there!

Quotes on Croke Park (IRE)
He’s been busy enough and probably doesn’t need to run again before Cheltenham. I don’t think he wants real winter heavy ground. He maybe didn’t jump as well as he did the last day. Sam (Ewing) said he slipped going into the first. The second horse didn’t lose much in defeat either, probably more of a test will suit him. He was well up after the line. Even when he won the Martin Pipe in Cheltenham he looked like a real stayer. As he’s named, there will be Better Days Ahead.

Quotes on Gorgeous Tom (IRE)
obviously he had a mishap (when falling) in Tipperary which was frustrating but he was back on track there and Darragh was brilliant on him. He came well recommended and while he wasn't a bad hurdler, we hoped he'd step forward for a fence. There is the Drinmore (novice Grade 1 at Fairyhouse, early December) for him so we'll see and enjoy today.

Quotes on Smallcraftwarning (IRE)
He is a magic little horse and wants to win. He'll go over fences now and is rated only 97 over fences. I think Dan King is a magical rider, and the ride he gave that horse was phenomenal. He comes in to me every Monday and Friday and never lets me down.
