I took a chance on the trip, because we really should have been running in the earlier Mayo National. I just wanted to run against more exposed horses. He’s not slow but just about got away with that distance (2m 3f 136yds) as the ground is quicker than I thought it would be, with not much rain. He jumped great and Donagh gets on well with him. He hasn’t got much mileage for a veteran, I haven’t over-raced him, and thought this was the race for him.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Richard James Daniels, trainer of Whatsafellatodo, concerning the conduct of this horse who was withdrawn by order of the Raceday Stewards having refused to line up. Evidence was heard from Richard James Daniels who stated that the horse has shown no tendency to do this at home or when it goes away to work but is being retired. Having considered the horse's previous record in this regard The Raceday Stewards advised Richard James Daniels that, pursuant to the provisions of Rule 14(iii), Whatsafellatodo was suspended from racing for a period of sixty racedays
S.D. Torrens, rider of Dreal Deal, trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel. The IHRB Veterinary Officer subsequently confirmed that the animal had blood at both nostrils post race
An extended handicap steeplechase for ten years old and upwards (130 = 11st 12lbs)
