Permission was given for Kit Gabriel (IRE) to go early to post and for Yeoman (GB), Finn Russell (IRE) and CITOG (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving, Visibility (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Kieran O’Neill and Yeoman (GB), placed third, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.
The interference was found to be accidental as Equion (GB), unplaced, shifted slightly right-handed, at the same time as Muscutt committed to a legitimate run, which resulted in the gap marginally closing and O’Neill having to take a precautionary check.
The winner, Imperial Fighter (IRE), appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 3 January 2025, where the gelding finished seventh of ten, beaten 22 lengths.
The representative of Jamie Osbornes’ explanation that the gelding had benefited from being ridden more prominently combined with the re-application of a hood, which enabled the gelding to settle better on this occasion, was noted.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Finn Russell (IRE), placed second, had bled from the nose.
