Permission was given for Nahy (FR), Zolder (GB) and Neardown (IRE) to wear a red hood to post, for Meet Me In Meraki (GB) to go to post early and for Extrication (GB) to be mounted on the course and to go to post early.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong, involving the winner, Meet Me In Meraki (GB), ridden by Billy Loughnane and Beta Reader (GB), placed second, ridden by Joe Fanning.

The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Meet Me In Meraki (GB)’s placing as Beta Reader (GB) was marginally taken off its intended line inside the final furlong and with the second placed horse always being held by the winner to the line.

The Stewards could not be satisfied that, with an uninterrupted run to the line, Beta Reader (GB) would have finished in front of Meet Me In Meraki (GB) as the ground and momentum lost was less than the distance of a neck at the finish.

Loughnane was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed, without sufficient correction, resulting in Beta Reader (GB) being taken marginally off its intended line.

Race 8 - 8:15pm.

THE BETFAIR PLAYS DIFFERENT FILLIES' HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) Permission was given for NIBRAS ANGEL, AFLOAT, MANDANA (IRE), SUMMER HEAT, MYTHICAL BIRD (IRE), TUESDAYS CHILD, FLIGHTOFTHEPHOENIX (IRE) and BETTY BASSETT (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for SANSANETTI (IRE) to be mounted on the course.

An enquiry was held to consider the manner in which Cieren Fallon appeared to sharply pull up his mount, SUHUB, unplaced, after the filly lost its action inside the final furlong.

The Stewards noted Fallon’s explanation and he was reminded of his responsibility to pull up his mount in a controlled manner.

Following the race, Joe Fanning reported that JEANNE BARET lost its action, so he felt it prudent to pull the filly up down the back straight.
