Permission was given for Bearwith (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood and for Jodhpur Blue (FR) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of potential interference on the home straight, involving Jodhpur Blue (FR), placed second, ridden by Billy Loughnane, Bearwith (GB), placed third, ridden by Aiden Brookes and the winner, Dust Cover (GB), ridden by Paddy Bradley.
The first incident took place shortly after turning in, involving Loughnane and Brookes and the second incident occurred inside the two furlong marker, involving Loughnane, Brookes and Bradley.
The riders were interviewed and shown recordings of the first incident, after which it was decided that no interference had taken place as Brookes had taken a precautionary check in anticipation of becoming short of room on the inside running rail.
In the second incident, the interference was found to be accidental as Jodhpur Blue (FR) had stepped left- handed at the same time as Bearwith (GB) was presented to a tight but legitimate gap causing Bearwith (GB) to become tight for room between Jodhpur Blue (FR) and Dust Cover (GB) for several strides.
