Permission was given for Liege (IRE) to be mounted on the course and to go to post early wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one and a half furlong out, involving My Boy Jack (GB), placed third, ridden by Alfie Gee, Neptune Legend (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Marco Ghiani and Liege (IRE), unplaced, ridden by William Carver.
Being a 7lb claimer, Gee was accompanied by a senior rider.
Gee was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his horse to drift left- handed under a right-handed drive, resulting in Liege (IRE) and Neptune Legend (IRE) being taken off their intended lines, which in turn left Spinning Dancer (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Millie Wonnacott being short for room on the rail.
Passing two furlongs out, Desert Beauty (GB), placed second, lugged quickly left-handed, before being corrected by its rider, which resulted in Spinning Dancer (IRE), unplaced, being momentarily short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Desert Beauty (GB).
Following the race, George Wood reported that Desert Beauty (GB), placed second, hung left-handed and William Carson reported that Perfect Parole (GB), placed fourth, was momentarily short for room approaching one furlong out.
