Permission was given for Top Lad (GB), Star Noir (GB) and Control Room (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Top Lad (GB), ridden by Lewis Chalkley and trained by Michael & David Easterby, which finished well under a hands and heels ride, to finish fourth of seven beaten 4¾ lengths.
The rider and the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race, the Handicapper offered observations and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated his instructions were to find a nice position when the stalls opened, and to give the gelding a hands and heels ride to obtain the best possible placing.
He added that the gelding was rolling around in the testing conditions, and in his opinion, he had obtained the best possible placing.
Michael Easterby confirmed that he was satisfied the ride accorded with the instructions given.
Their explanations were noted.
Following the race, David Allan reported that Luck Money (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed.
