The son of Court Cave seems to prefer a sounder surface, having won his point-to-point on good, disappointing on soft to heavy at Naas and Navan earlier this year. He ran a cracker when third to Antey on his most recent start at the Punchestown Festival, and a reproduction of that performance should see him hard to beat. Minella Times looks the main danger. He fell at the last when set to win a point-to-point on debut, running a fine race to finish fourth on his first start for current connections at Cork last November. He is likely to come on plenty for that run, and should give the selection plenty to think about. Glorious Legend (first time hood) was fifth on his debut over flights at Wexford last September, and more will be required if he is to feature here. Duke's Girl pushed Msassa all the way to the line at Sligo last Sunday, and it'll be interesting to see how she fares, while Niven and Storm Rising are other each-way contenders.
