FormscanBy Alan Magee - FELIX YONGER gets the vote despite reverting to hurdles for the first time in nearly three years. Willie Mullins’ charge held a rating of 147 when last seen over timber but has eclipsed that level over fences with a couple of Grade 2 wins including last time at Cork. The selection touched off Mallowney in the Hilly Way Chase, and that form looks even better in hindsight. Point-to-point winner Golantilla looked a top class jumping prospect a few years ago when third to Briar Hill in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, although Barry Connell’s expensive purchase has been lightly-raced since. His third (of three finishers) in a Grade 1 here at the Christmas meeting received a timely boost when Sub Lieutenant took a Grade 2 novice at Thurles on Thurday. Western Boy is probably most noted for giving Vautour a fright at Punchestown last term and, after failing to take to fences this season, showed more sparkle when reverting to hurdles at Clonmel last time.
