FormscanBy Tom Weekes - GWENCILY BERBAS hasn’t raced since December but looks the type to win plenty races over fences and is likely to be primed for his reappearance here. Grade 1 placed over hurdles, he was once rated 151 in that sphere and while beaten in three initial chase runs, takes a drop in class here. He has bumped into a few high class types over fences, notably when second to Our Duke, and will have gained sufficient experience in those races to take all the beating here. Modem is himself very capable over hurdles and ran from a rating of 140 at Punchestown latest. He makes his chase debut here and while he clearly has plenty ability, it is a concern he is without a win since October 2015. Our Dougal makes his seasonal reappearance here and while he has shown a solid level of ability over fences thus far, may be vulnerable to any smart performers. Sea Light also returns from a break and while he was once very useful over this trip, seems to want further nowadays and is possible best watched on chase debut. Roconga is a useful dual purpose horse on his day but is possible best watched on chase debut here.
