FormscanBy Tom Weekes - DISKO has shown a few glimpses of smart ability and while he steps up to this trip for the first time today, might prove good enough. He was a smart hurdler and while he seemed to disappoint in a Grade 1 novice at the Punchestown festival, won nicely on chase debut here last month and might possibly prove better over this 2m6f trip. He is Bryan Cooper’s pick but that may have been a tough call as A Toi Phil himself was a smart hurdler and also won nicely on debut debut at Down Royal recently. He pulled up in that Punchestown Grade 1 and while clearly better than than, there may not be much between him and the selection. Nambour is another solid Gigginstown runner and won well on chase debut at Galway. He too was smart over hurdles, stays well and should be capable of playing his part. Jetstream Jack was a useful handicap hurdler and might prove a better chaser, having won well on chase debut at Tipperary. He is another with claims although Space Cadet faces a tougher task than when winning at Roscommon latest and Georges Conn needs to improve on overall form to win.
