The Stowaway gelding was a smart sort in bumpers when runner-up to the ill-fated Fayonagh in a Grade 1 at Punchestown, and was one of the leading novice hurdlers last term when third to Samcro in the Deloitte at Leopardstown and only beaten about three lengths behind Summerville Boy in the Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham. He looks the type to do well over fences and is sure to be well schooled. Duca De Thaix sets a very decent standard of those with experience over fences. He’s been placed on all three outings this season including behind the front-running Us And Them over course and distance, and is now fitted with cheek-pieces. Jetz, a consistent sort in Graded novice company over hurdles last year, was starting to come under pressure when exiting three out in that Navan beginners event.
